Exciting new Partnerships!
The CSTS-Halifax crew is delighted to add to sponsors to our side, helping us make sure we’ve got all our moving parts and can afford a new catalyzer in the case of random evil events.
Carbon Arc Cinema is a volunteer-run arts cinema based in the Khyber building on Barrington Street in downtown Halifax. We had originally approached them to rent the space for the Can’t Stop the Serenity event, but when they heard more about our plans, about CSTS, and about Equality Now they offered to donate us the space! To make things even better, the house manager is a Browncoat, and they’re on board with running Firefly-themed concessions at the event! If you’re into local independent cinema, they are always looking for new volunteers.
Quantum Frontier, a great source for comic books and games, is helping us to sell tickets at their handy location in the heart of the Halifax North End, just around the corner from the Hydrostone at Young and Robie. We’ll let you know when they’ve got the actual tickets in hand to sell, but in the meantime, do check out the shiny geeky things on their walls!
We’re also delighted to have Hal-Con on board! The local fantasy and sci-fi convention was a massive success last year, and brought together geeks and gamers and costumers and craftspeople of all varieties. Hal-Con actually ran last year’s Can’t Stop the Serenity event as part of their series of movie showings, and we’re honoured to have their support this year. If you’re interested in getting involved with the con this year, visit their website–they can always use some volunteers!
